Leadership Development: New(ish) Manager Training

Being a new manager is hard! Most companies don't invest in training development programs while department heads don't have the bandwidth to teach the fundamentals.  And that leaves many women at risk of stagnating if she isn't able to become an effective manager, getting the most from her team at the onset.

This is where investing in your own development becomes so important. Strategically, you want to think about reducing the amount of time at each level of your career. By investing in your development at the start of each new phase, you'll be able to bypass the "learning phase" and immediately start effecting positive change.  Our Manager Training is developed by Executives from some of the best companies in the world including: Google, McCann, Coca-Cola and Netflix.

Financial Fluency for Non-Finance People

Women represent approximately half of all middle management but the percentage of CEO's remains at 5%. One gating factor preventing top performing women from reaching executive roles is their financial fluency. Compounding the issue, studies show that men are mentored to 'run the business' while women in middle management are mentored on 'communication style' ensuring the financial fluency gap persists.

The Forem Financial Fluency class levels the playing field and provides the financial acumen and fluency needed to advance.

The Art of Negotiation

Only 50% of women negotiate and when we do, we ask for 30% less than men. Yet, negotiation is a skill that tips in a woman's favor because the more empathetic you are, the more likely you are to get what you want.

The Forem tackles negotiation to close the wage gap and provides you with the tools to advocate for higher compensation within your existing role or within a new one.

Our Salary Negotiation Class is led by Alli Young, CEO of The Forem.

Build Your Personal Brand: Bootstrap your 360 Review

The first step to building your brand is to understand how those around you perceive you.  In most organizations, only executives are awarded career coaches who run a "360 Review" which survey's those on their team, their manager and peers on performance, strengths and weaknesses.

But leaders aren't the only ones who need 360 reviews to understand perception within an org. At The Forem, we would argue that women at all levels of an organization need 360 reviews because we often battle unconscious bias without understanding where negative perceptions come from or why.   A 360 review can help shed light on friction with colleagues, what you are doing well and where you can spend time fostering new relationships or skills.

In this course, we teach you how to run your own 360 review so you can quickly understand perception within your company and gain insight that will help you grow to be a leader you want to be.
